For over 20 years, the Christian Home Educators of the Blue Water Area (CHEBWA) has existed as a Christian support group for families who homeschool in and around Port Huron, Michigan.
We are comprised of moms and dads committed to the spiritual, educational, emotional, and physical growth of our children. We consider CHEBWA open to all who would be encouraged by support from a Christian worldview and we welcome your participation. Our statement of faith can be found here.
It is the mission of CHEBWA to be a support to homeschooling families and a light to the community in matters of faith, family, and education. We strive to do this by providing resources, a hand in friendship, and opportunities to come together for learning, growth, and relationship-building. We do this primarily through monthly support group meetings, Mom's Night Out events, social and educational events, our website, and a private Facebook group.
Here on our website, you can stay updated on monthly meetings activities, and events hosted by CHEBWA, as well as find links for more information on classes, educational opportunities, and homeschooling resources in the area.
If you are just getting started in homeschooling, be sure to check out our "Resources" page for some of our favorite websites and books to help you on your way!
We pray that you can find the encouragement & support you have been searching for at CHEBWA. May God bless you on your home education adventure!

if you cannot find an answer to your question.
No. We are not a co-op. We are the only homeschool Parent Support Group. We provide resources, a hand in friendship, and opportunities to come together for learning, growth, and relationship building. Our monthly meetings are free and open to the public. To learn more, join us at our next meeting. We'd love to meet you!
C.H.E.B.W.A. does not host or sponsor any classes. We share resources, local events, learning opportunities, and member-planned field trips. Check our EVENTS page to see what is coming up next.
All members are welcome to plan an event, activity, or field trip. You can survey the group, ask questions, and get help by posting in our private FB group or contacting any leadership team member. Easy peasy!
